As we tumble towards February – a beacon of light.
As we at MI HQ connect around the network, almost everyone we talk to says their practice and their firms are busy, maybe even a little too busy (a ‘happy problem’ to have).
That’s supported by the ‘2023 Report on the State of the Legal Market’ by the Thomson Reuters Institute and Georgetown Law – the market has shown a clear shift towards midsize firms.
As the report stated, “Midsize firms stood alone among the market segments in seeing demand growth in 2022. While larger firms saw stark deterioration in all practices, midsize firms were increasingly competitive, especially in litigation, labor & employment, and intellectual property”.
As clients feel the squeeze, they seem to be looking for responsive, high-quality and more cost-effective legal advice – the sweet-spot for the type of good, independent, midsize firm that makes up the Mackrell International ‘family.’
And when those law firms are tightly connected around the world and have a strong foundation of trust and mutual support, whenever work is cross-border, then clients get an even better deal.
