Over the past fifteen years, Greece has faced unprecedented economic and institutional crises that reshaped its legal and business environment. Dr. Kanellos Klamaris (MI Member firm Tsibanoulis & Partners, Greece) explored how those challenges became catalysts for reform, driving lawmakers to reduce transaction costs and modernize company law.
Dr. Klamaris presented how Greece's legal framework evolved in response to multiple crises, including the financial crisis, pandemic, and geopolitical tensions, leading to significant reforms in corporate governance, insolvency law, and company transformation rules. The introduction of the private company and simplified transformation procedures were highlighted as key innovations that addressed previous limitations of the LLC structure and improved flexibility for businesses. Dr Klamaris also covered recent developments in capital markets and publicity requirements, noting that while most major reforms were completed, ongoing work includes implementing European directives on company transparency. The discussion concluded with insights about current investment trends in sectors like tourism, real estate, and defence technology, with both domestic and international investors active in the Greek market.

Fast AI M&A drafting in Your Firm's Voice – 12 February 2026 morning
DownloadThe first call of the day focused on the presentation of a new AI-powered contract drafting tool specifically designed for M&A transactions in civil law jurisdictions, developed by MI firm Sibinčič Novak & Partners. Jan (https://www.sn-p.si/our-team/jan-sibincic-en/ ) and Matic (https://www.sn-p.si/our-team/matic-novak-ll-m/ ) demonstrated the tool's capabilities, highlighting its ability to generate customized legal documents using firm-specific templates while maintaining data privacy through either cloud-based or on-premise deployment options. The tool aims to streamline the drafting process by analyzing existing contracts to produce new documents that reflect the firm's unique drafting style and legal requirements. The development team sought seeking 5 beta testers from different jurisdictions in the MI network to gather feedback and further refine the tool, which will eventually expand to include additional document types and legal database integration.
