Formal requirements:

 Residency through lump sum taxation

In order to obtain a residence permit through lump sum taxation, the following requirements must be met:

General requirements:

  • Non-EU/EFTA-National

  • alid passport

  • Be within the age range of 18 to 55

  • Impeccable Legal Record

  • Adequate health insurance coverage

  • Financial Stability

  • Residential Property in Switzerland (lease or possess)

Specific requirements:

  • No employment

  • Agreement to pay a predetermined minimal annual tax (CHF250’000 to CHF 1’000’000), exact amount depending on the specific canton

 

Residency by investment

In order to obtain a residence permit by investment, the following requirements must be met: 

General requirements:

  • Non-EU/EFTA-National

  • Valid passport

  • Be within the age range of 18 to 55

  • Impeccable Legal Record

  • Adequate health insurance coverage

  • Financial Stability

  • Residential Property in Switzerland (lease or possess)

Specific requirements:

  • Minimum investment of CHF 1’000’000 (form a new company or investing in a existing Swiss company)

  • The investment must create jobs or add value to the Swiss economy

Citizenship

In order to obtain citizenship, a residence period of 10 years is required in addition to other requirements.
