Spain ended its golden visa program in April 2025.
On January 3, 2025, Organic Law 1/2025 was published, amending Law 14/2013 and eliminating investor visas (Golden Visa) since April 3, 2025 onwards.
What happens with existing visas and applications in progress?
Applications in process: Applications submitted before April 2, 2025 were processed under the existing regulations.
Valid visas: Visas that have already been issued will remain valid until their expiration date and can be renewed as long as the applicants still meet the requirements that led to the initial visa.
In summary, investor visas were eliminated in April 2025, but existing visas remain valid under the conditions in effect before that date and still can be extended.
