Trade Wars: Beyond Tariffs - From Backroom to Boardroom
Maritime International Trade and Logistics Law PG
Join Chair Leonard (Len) Fleisig, partner at Mackrell International member firm Willcox Savage in Virginia, USA https://www.willcoxsavage.com/people/leonard-len-l-fleisig and Chair of the Trade and Logistics Law PG for a timely presentation exploring how rising tariffs, tougher enforcement and expanding disclosure requirements are making international trade compliance a boardroom priority on Wednesday 2nd December at 4 pm UK GMT.
Len will examine the two-front challenge of tariffs and enhanced enforcement, including increased penalties, potential criminal liability, country-of-origin scrutiny, transshipment, forced labour and growing supply chain transparency requirements — and what these mean for businesses and their global trading partners.
Len brings extensive maritime and international trade expertise, backed by 12 years of hands-on logistics experience. He advises clients on US import/export regulations, customs compliance, sanctions, licensing and enforcement, offering practical, commercially focused solutions to complex cross-border challenges.
Questions and Discussion
Following Len’s presentation, there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion. We particularly welcome Mackrell International members from outside the US to join the conversation, ask questions and, where relevant, share any experiences of how changing US trade policies are affecting their clients and businesses in their jurisdictions.
Who should join? MI Lawyers of any level advising on international trade, customs, regulatory compliance, corporate and commercial transactions, supply chains, and cross-border business operations. Particularly relevant to practitioners whose clients import, export, manufacture, or operate internationally.
We’ll wrap up, as usual, with an open forum for anyone to raise issues and suggest areas of focus or topics for future meetings.
