Tax Practice Group Call

Please join our Tax PG Call together with our MGI Worldwide Colleagues on 8th October 2026 at 4pm UK BST (which is 12 lunchtime Brazil BRT, 8am PDT Los Angeles, 11am EDT New York,  7pm GST Dubai) to catch up with the Tax PG members around the globe.

Group Leaders Fernanda Calazans (https://velloza.com.br/profissional/fernanda-junqueira-calazans/ , Brazil and Joe Demko (https://sandbergphoenix.com/people/joseph-demko/ Missouri, USA) have put together an agenda for discussion, and warmly welcome MGI members to join the MI Tax PG. In addition to the ideas below, we particularly encourage members to bring along local/regional tax developments, challenges and emerging issues from their own countries and regions – sharing what is happening locally so we can compare experiences, identify common themes.

1. International tax updates: A practical round-up of key cross-border developments, including transfer pricing, Pillar Two implementation, the US GILTI/NCTI rules – with a side-by-side comparison to Pillar Two – and the Multilateral Instrument (MLI), focusing on their implications for international treaty networks.

2. VAT/GST across countries: With Brazil implementing VAT/GST reforms, we’ll share experiences and lessons from jurisdictions where consumption taxes are already well established – and hear about important VAT/GST and wider tax developments in members’ own markets.

3. Lookahead to the IFA Melbourne Congress 2026: 18–22 October, we’ll preview key themes, including taxation of royalties and gains from IP/intangibles, highlighting what matters most for members.

4. Opportunity for members to put local and regional issues into the group alongside international developments, network with fellow members, compare notes across jurisdictions and spot trends that may be relevant elsewhere. 

By bringing together perspectives from around the world, we can strengthen our collective insight and help each other better advise clients navigating change.
