Energy and Natural Resources PG Call: Iran Oil Sanctions Relief

A 60-day Window for Energy Companies

Monday 20 Jul 2026, 14:00 - 15:00 (BST)

Iran Oil Sanctions Relief: A 60-Day Window for Energy Companies

OFAC's recent General License authorising Iranian-origin oil and petrochemical transactions for 60 days has opened a narrow but real opportunity for energy and maritime operators — and a compliance minefield for their advisors.

Please join group leaders Paul Heyburn (MI member firm Mehaffy Weber PC, Houston, TX, USA) and Paul Rutisiya (MI member firm Kasirye Byaruhanga & Co, Kampala, Uganda), together with Herdem Attorneys at Law (MI member firm, Turkey) whose firm will deliver a practical session on 20th July 2026 at 2pm UK BST on what the license permits, where the risk still sits, and whether compliance teams and law firms are actually ready to advise clients through it.

We’ll wrap up with an open forum for anyone to raise issues and suggest areas of focus or topics for future meetings.
