They discussed the shift from enforcement-focused regulation to more structured guidance, particularly regarding custody of digital assets by broker-dealers. The conversation explored how the new political administration's approach has created more certainty for the industry, though they noted that future regulations could still be reversed. They also touched on the challenges of cross-jurisdictional regulation and the need for clarity in the regulatory environment to support innovation while ensuring compliance. The discussion concluded with thoughts on the increasing convergence between traditional finance and crypto markets, as well as the potential for M&A activity in this space.
