The regulation covers supervision, enforcement, safety rules, physical and digital resilience, environmental sustainability, and standards and specifications. Key provisions include centralized authorization and registration systems, safety rules for space activities, and requirements for risk assessment and management. Luca noted that the regulation is generally positive and will likely be approved within a year and a half, though there are some inconsistencies that will be addressed through amendments. The regulation is expected to come into force on January 1, 2030, and will create a unified market for space-based data and services.
