Migrant Visa Investor to foreigners who have made Foreign Direct Investment.
To apply for this visa, foreigners must:
Provide a certification from the Central Bank confirming the registration of the direct foreign investment.
The investment must exceed 650 current legal monthly minimum wages at the time of submitting the application (For the year 2025, more than USD 215,934).
The validity of this visa can be granted for up to 3 years, but the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the discretionary authority to determine the validity period in each case.
Migrant Visa Investor to foreigners who have acquired real estate
To apply for this visa, foreigners must:
Provide a Certificate of Ownership for the property.
The investment must exceed 350 legal monthly minimum wages at the time of submitting the application (For the year 2025, more than USD 116,272).
Provide a certification from the Central Bank confirming the registration of the direct foreign investment.
The validity of this visa can be granted for up to 3 years, but the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the discretionary authority to determine the validity period in each case.
Additional Information
Holders of these types of visas may apply for a resident visa after residing in the country for 5 years.
If these visas are requested for a second or subsequent time, the visa applicant must prove that they maintained the investment or ownership of the property throughout the validity of their previous visa.
Applicants must demonstrate that they have health coverage in Colombia or a health insurance policy with nationwide coverage, including protection against accidents, illness, maternity, disability, hospitalization, death, or repatriation, for the duration of their intended stay in the country.
These visas allow holders to request visas for (i) A spouse or permanent partner, (ii) Children up to 25 years of age and (iii) A child with physical or mental disabilities.

Process
The visa application is submitted online through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs platform.
Once the application fee is paid, the Ministry will begin reviewing the visa application and will have up to 30 calendar days to issue a decision.
If the foreign applicant is in Colombia, the visa office in Bogotá will be responsible for reviewing the application.
If the foreign applicant is outside Colombia at the time of applying for the visa, the process must be submitted at the nearest consulate, which will then handle the visa review.
Once the electronic visa is issued, the foreigner who applied from Colombia will have 15 calendar days to request the foreigner’s ID before Migración Colombia. Similarly, a foreigner who applied while abroad will have 15 calendar days to request the ID, starting from their entry into Colombia.
