Jeff Greenberg is a lending attorney who focuses on guiding financial institution clients from initial documentation to the amendment, restructure, workout and enforcement of commercial credit facilities. A partner in the firm's Commercial Lending and Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights departments, clients value Jeff's pragmatic, results-driven approach. Jeff also regularly assists the firm's Real Estate department regarding transactional insolvency issues and the issuance of specialized legal opinions.
In addition to traditional asset classes, Jeff has specialized experience with loans and leases involving heavy equipment, vessels, aircraft, health care receivables, government contracts and motor vehicle inventory. His bankruptcy practice includes the representation of secured creditors, landlords and equipment lessors with regard to lease assumption and rejection, and purchasers acquiring assets out of bankruptcy. Jeff has practiced pro hac vice in numerous bankruptcy courts up and down the East Coast.
Jeff also is a frequent writer and commenter on lending and bankruptcy law topics. For 2021 and 2022, Jeff was named in Best Lawyers in America, “Ones to Watch,” for Real Estate Law and Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law.
Active in the community, Jeff sits on the Board of the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland, the pro bono arm of the Maryland State Bar Association.
Before joining the firm, Jeff held the positions of associate, then partner, in the Financial Institutions Department of an Am Law firm, resident in the Baltimore office. Following graduation from law school, Jeff served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Clayton Greene Jr., Court of Appeals of Maryland, the State’s highest court, giving him keen insight to the decisional process that he brings to bear in his practice.
