Despite global travel disruptions, Mackrell International Emerging Leaders from Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia gathered in Kuala Lumpur last week, hosted with exceptional warmth and hospitality by the team at Ram Caroline Sha & Syah
The programme was packed.
Sessions explored practical networking, building your professional “tribe”, recognising genuine opportunities, protecting intellectual property, and the growing role of AI in shaping legal practice. There was also time to reflect on managing stress and maintaining energy in demanding professional careers.
And for one afternoon, we were all movie stars.
Perhaps the most powerful reflection of the week was this: what do you truly deliver for your clients? Not just the meeting itself but what happens afterwards. The outcomes. The reassurance. The clarity. The progress.
Your all-important “Afters”.
It’s Asia, so of course there was karaoke. Some hidden talent emerged along with a fair amount of enthusiasm for singing… see the Instagram for supporting material.
We ate like kings, discovered a cocktail bar hidden in a bank vault, graduated briefly from the school of hard knocks while learning the art of pewter crafting, tried our hand at Batik, and experienced just a glimpse of Malaysia’s remarkable culture and flavours.
Our thanks to everyone who travelled from near and far and threw themselves into the experience, to the firms investing in their rising leaders, to the MI HQ team who made it happen, and above all to our generous and fabulously creative Malaysian hosts at RAMCSS.
