Tony Kent

Tony is Head of the Property Litigation team at Mackrell. Solicitors London office, where he has particular expertise in a wide range of property dispute areas, residential and commercial, acting for both landlord and tenant.

His team advises on leasehold enfranchisement, rent and service charge recovery, residential and commercial possession proceedings and a variety of other types of litigation, including the recovery of estate agents’ fees and property-related matters.

Tony’s team is able to provide their clients with a “one-stop” service, where appropriate, by dealing with all aspects of a case, including attending at court and dealing with the advocacy themselves.

He has worked on a variety of high profile assignments, including cases involving surveyors as ‘owners’ under environmental protection notices, sale by council at less than full value, assured tenancies and rent increases, lease extension: signature by attorney; and right of first refusal – definition of building.

Educated at Haberdashers’ Askes School and the University of Kent, Tony trained at Binks Stern, qualifying in 1983. He was a partner at Eversleys in Islington before joining our firm as a partner in 2001.
