Patrick Baer, Danckelmann und Kerst, Germany

Patrick Baer has been focusing on IP Law since his studies. After finishing his law degree at the University of Bayreuth and completing the first state exam in Bavaria, he continued his education to become a lawyer in Frankfurt. During this time, he already gained practical experience by working for MI Member Firm Danckelmann und Kerst, as well as an NGO that monitors unfair competition in Germany and the county of Hessen’s data protection agency. By completing the second state exam in 2018 Patrick returned to Danckelmann und Kerst as a lawyer, becoming part of the IP Department. He is handling cases in trademark law, unfair competition law and trade secrets law on a daily basis since then, both as an advisor and a litigator. Most recently, he took part in a hearing before Germany’s highest court, the Federal Court of Justice. He is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR) as well as MI Next Gen Lawyers.
