Canada Proposes to Delete Substances from the DSL

On November 11, Environment Canada published in the Canada Gazette a notice of intent to delete non-eligible substances from the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) Domestic Substances List (DSL). According to Environment Canada, the list comprises of 1,105 chemicals and polymers that, as the result of an audit, did not meet the eligibility criteria of being manufactured or imported into Canada in a quantity of 100 kilograms (kg) or more in one calendar year between January 1, 1984 and December 31, 1986.
