Sussman Shank partner selected for Best Lawyers in America 2010

3 September 2009

Portland, OR, USA -- Sussman Shank partner, George W. “Skip” McKallip, Jr., has been selected by his peers to be included in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® in the specialty of Environmental Law.

Mr. McKallip has 25 years of extensive experience in a wide variety of environmental matters and litigation. His practice emphasizes hazardous waste cost recovery and contribution litigation, representation of businesses in regulatory cleanups, transactional due diligence, brownfields redevelopment, and permitting. Skip also defends asbestos, mold and toxic tort cases. He is chair of the firm's Environmental, Sustainability and Climate Change Groups and has received many honors including “Best of the Bar” in environmental law by the Portland Business Journal and has been selected for inclusion in 2007 and 2008 Oregon Super Lawyers.

Since its inception in 1983, Best Lawyers has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence. Because Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which leading attorneys cast their votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their specialties, and because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor. In the United States, there are approximately 2.5 percent of attorneys who are listed in Best Lawyers. Corporate Counsel magazine has called Best Lawyers “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.”
