ASIC to facilitate easier capital raising by listed entities

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has released a Consultation Paper proposing a number of measures designed to facilitate equity capital raisings by listed companies. ASIC is hoping to fast-track the reforms in recognition that current financial conditions have significantly restricted listed companies' access to debt financing, making equity capital raisings more likely.
