San Francisco Officials Give Warm Welcome to Keller and Heckman LLP; Open House Event Celebrated with Certificates of Appreciation
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF.—Approximately 100 well wishers packed the new offices of Keller and Heckman for an Open House and art showing gala on 10/30 that included representatives from the offices of Senator Dianne Feinstein, Assemblyman Mark Leno, San Francisco County Supervisor Aaron Peskin and the San Francisco Fire Department.
"It was a delightful surprise to receive such a warm welcome at our new space from the elected community. We were particularly appreciative to see so many clients and colleagues in our new location," said John Dubeck, chair of Keller and Heckman's management committee.
A Certificate of Recognition was sent by Assemblyman Mark Leno's office who congratulated the firm on its expansion and law/science model, "I further commend your commitment to bringing science and the law together in an effort to increase product safety. It is through the efforts of businesses such as yours that the future becomes brighter for all."
San Francisco County Supervisor and President of the Board of Supervisors Aaron Peskin's staff presented the firm a Certificate of Honor in recognition of "… your outstanding practice in regulatory law, commercial litigation disputes and product liability, and in celebration of the grand opening of your expanded offices.
In a short presentation, Dubeck gave an overall view of the firm; San Francisco partners Leslie Krasny and Dan Herling noted the unique value of having a food regulatory and litigation practice backed by a 3 to 1 ratio (one scientist in-house for approximately every three attorneys). David Ettinger, a partner with the firm's Washington D.C. office painted a close-up picture of the firm's scientific in-house resources and its popular industry-accredited seminars taught by both lawyers and scientists, "It's like having a mini-Caltech within a law firm" he says.
Local artist Monika Steiner, whose art graced the office walls, was also present in addition to the owners of the Geras Tousignant Gallery that lent the exhibit.
"It was a great evening," says Krasny. "We were able to spend time with clients and colleagues from both coasts, which is a rare opportunity" she adds.
Keller and Heckman's San Francisco office addresses all regulatory matters related to food safety, claims for conventional foods and dietary supplements, recalls, Prop 65 assessments and litigation, product liability, class actions, commercial and intellectual property litigation, labor and employment, occupational safety and health issues.
