Another ADVantage for BTO

22 November 2007
Mark Morton, Solicitor Advocate, formerly a Senior Associate with Dundas & Wilson, joined Brechin Tindal Oatts (BTO) as an Associate on 1 August 2007. Mark is the latest solicitor advocate to join BTO’s ADVantage solicitor advocacy service, bringing the team up to ten.

BTO started offering an in-house solicitor advocacy service in 2001 and its ADVantage team now has the highest headcount of any Scottish law firm. Partner, Catherine Currie, and Associate, Ray Gribben, were both admitted as Civil Solicitor Advocates this summer. The team contains nine civil solicitor advocates and one criminal solicitor advocate, who enjoy extended rights of audience in the Court of Session, High Court and House of Lords.

Mark’s background is in property law and commercial litigation. At BTO, he will work closely with Bill Speirs, Partner and head of the Insurers’ Representation team, in handling BTO’s substantial non-personal injury workload, focusing on insured construction disputes and product liability.

Willie Young, Managing Partner, said: “We are delighted to welcome Mark to the firm and, in particular, to our expanding team of solicitor advocates. They provide BTO’s clients with significant benefits in terms of client and case knowledge, accessibility, consistency and cost.”
