Mary E. Pivec Joins Keller and Heckman and Expands Firm's Immigration and Employment Defense Practice

Keller and Heckman LLP is pleased to announce that Mary E. Pivec has joined the firm as a Partner in the firm's employment practice and will reside in the firm's Washington, D.C. office.


Ms. Pivec has more than 25 years of employment law experience advising public and private companies concerning a broad variety of workplace issues. She represents employers in whistleblower, EEO, ERISA, and FLSA litigation, advises clients regarding workplace immigration issues, and represents management interests in the collective bargaining, unfair labor practice, and grievance arbitration process.


"With Mary joining our Employment Group, we have gained considerable expertise for our clients that are involved in the expanding area of immigration issues, including H-1B audits and employer sanctions investigations and prosecutions. Mary is also heavily involved in several significant litigation cases involving wrongful termination and age, race, and gender discrimination matters," said John Dubeck, Chair of Keller and Heckman's Management Committee. Ms. Pivec has received the Washington, D.C. Super Lawyer 2007 award in the Labor and Employment area which is based on peer nominations and has also been awarded the Best Lawyers in America since 1990 in the area of immigration law. Ms. Pivec lectures on a wide range of employment issues, including defending employers in Sarbanes Oxley investigations and complying with the Family Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act, and she has published numerous articles dealing with employment and immigration issues.
