3 April 2007
On 1 April, Willie Young, Managing Partner, welcomed two new partners at Scottish law firm Brechin Tindal Oatts (BTO). Nicolas McBride has been promoted within the Commercial Property team and David Hoey within BTO’s Employment Law Consultancy. The firm also announced Jennifer Weir’s promotion to Associate in the Private Client team.

Nicolas McBride will continue to develop the firm’s growing commercial property portfolio. He has considerable experience of acting for a wide variety of clients with commercial property interests, including investors, developers and retail clients. Nicolas also advises clients in the leisure and hospitality sectors on liquor and other licensing issues.

David Hoey’s advancement follows his attainment last year of a Masters Degree with Distinction in Employment Law and Practice. David has focused on employment law throughout his career and has extensive experience in advising employers, including PLCs and multinationals, in a range of industry sectors from social housing to hoteliers. David works closely with Caroline Carr who was re-accredited in 2006 by The Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in employment law.

Willie Young said: “Given the current activity in the property sector and the fast changing nature of employment law, Nick and David are welcome additions to the Partnership. Jennifer’s user-friendly approach is ideal for our increasing number of private clients. These appointments will enhance our pool of legal talent in what remains a very competitive market.”
