Shughart Thomson & Kilroy Attorney Named to Missouri Gaming Commission

St. Joseph, MO-Governor Matt Blunt has nominated attorney Suzanne Bocell Bradley to the Missouri Gaming Commission. Bradley is an attorney with Shughart Thomson & Kilroy, P.C. law firm headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. She will begin her prestigious position on the Missouri Gaming Commission pending a Senate confirmation hearing April 4th.

She told The Kansas City Star, “I hope 30 years practicing law will help bring an objective ear to issues and regulatory matters. This is a very important industry to the state and to taxpayers.”

Bradley is a St. Joseph attorney and part-time judge who fills vacancies on the St. Joseph Municipal Court Bench. Last November, Bradley was chosen to represent northwest Missouri on the Board of Governors of the Missouri Bar. Bradley is a general practioner who specializes in the area of wills and trusts. She grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and has a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Kansas and a law degree from UMKC. She has been with Shughart Thomson & Kilroy since 2004.

The Missouri Gaming Commission is the regulatory body of an agency that oversees riverboat casinos and bingo in the state. Bradley will be one of a five member commission and the first commission member from northwest Missouri.

She describes herself as an occasional social gambler, mostly at the St. Jo Frontier Casino.
“I enjoy gambling but I don’t consider myself a gambler. I live in a river town with a casino, but I still haven’t figured out how to play craps,” said Bradley.
