Management Team - International Committee

MI's Management Team works like any other board or committee running a global professional service operation. The team works to ensure best practice in all key areas and delivers client coverage across the world in EMEA, The Americas and Asia. The Management Team meets regularly at the network's regional events, AGM and online. You are welcome to contact any member directly.

Nigel Rowley, Chair

Headshot of Nigel Rowley Working closely with the Managing Director, Nigel provides leadership and responsibility for the team's composition, development, duties and performance. Nigel's priority is to ensure MI delivers on its promises to clients and members and has been a driving force behind the network's recent expansion. Known for his visionary outlook, Nigel leads many of MI's special projects including business development and trade delegations. He is managing partner and head of dispute resolution at MI founding member Mackrell Turner Garrett, London. The Chair is elected by MI members for a three year term.

Clive Miéville, Managing Director

Headshot of Clive Miéville MI's most senior full-time executive Clive Miéville is tasked with advising and delivering on strategy. His client-facing responsibilities include co-ordinating the delivery of MI's legal services to organisations worldwide and he regularly represents MI at legal conferences and events. Working with HQ staff, Meryl Edwards and Elaine Lister, Clive is also responsible for recruiting and auditing members, membership satisfaction and delivery of member services.

David Ettinger - Americas IC Representative and Deputy Chair Designate

Headshot of David Ettinger David has served as an Americas IC Representative for six years and will be put forward for the role of Deputy Chair in May 2018. He is the Chief Representative of Keller and Heckman’s Shanghai office. Keller and Heckman’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. has been a Mackrell member for over 16 years and the firm has been a leading force in pushing forward new MI initiatives assisting members to set up global webinars and piloting MI's YouTube video channel project.

John Scheef – Americas IC Representative and Business Development, US

Headshot of John Scheef With 23 firms in 35 states with 75 offices and just over 3000 attorneys, MI has one of the strongest global legal networks in the US. John, litigator and construction partner at Texas firm Scheef & Stone, is head of the network’s business development group for the US. On the Management Team he represents the interests of all the US firms with a priority brief to promote the network’s US credentials to clients, contacts and potential new members.

Guilherme Tepedino Hernandez – South Americas IC Representative

Headshot of Guilherme Tepedino Hernandez Guilherme represents the interests of MI's powerful South American member contingent in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panama, Peru and Venezuela. Established in the 1950s, his firm Castro, Barros, Sobral, Gomes Advogados, is one of Brazil’s most traditional and respected law firms. Guilherme specialises in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, project finance and foreign investment.

Chris Short – Asia Pacific IC Representative and Global Membership Chair

Roeland Moeyersons – EMEA IC Representative and Young Lawyers

Headshot of Roeland Moeyersons Because of MI's substantial number of young lawyers, Roeland is tasked with the development of the three regional Young Lawyers Groups and representing their interests on the Management Team. His firm, van Cutsem Wittamer Marnef & Partners saw the future of Global Legal Networks early on and became one of the founding member firms of Mackrell International back in 1987. Roeland specialises in Business & Corporate Litigation.

Daniel Wendland - EMEA IC Representative and Treasurer

Headshot of Daniel Wendland Daniel holds the official post of Treasurer so as well as representing the EMEA Members on all issues within Mackrell he also ensures that all of our member's financial interests within MI are fully represented on the Management Team. At his firm SES Berlin, Daniel specialises in Real Estate Transactions.

Paul Rutisya – Africa IC Representative and Africa Growth

Headshot of Paul Rutisya Paul is the Management Team member for Africa and represents the interests of the network’s members in Algeria, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, South Africa and his own firm in Uganda. Africa has been identified as a priority area for the network’s growth and Paul is also responsible for identifying and presenting potential new members. Paul is a partner at Kampala-based Kasirye Byaruhanga and specialises in criminal defence and litigation.
