DANCKELMANN UND KERST is a Frankfurt-based law firm with a long tradition. It was founded in the 1920s and still bears the name of the famous lawyer Dr. Bernhard Danckelmann, who co-founded not only the “Palandt” Commentary on the German Civil Code, but also the "Neue Juristische Wochenschrift" (NJW), a weekly publication on legal issues.
Today the firm is active throughout Germany in many areas of commercial law. Special areas of focus include intellectual property (unfair competition, trademark, copyright, design, patent, license and antitrust law) as well as telecommunications and media law. In these areas, our lawyers assist businesses in achieving their goals and conduct numerous ground-breaking lawsuits. Other core competencies of our firm, which also includes notaries*, are commercial and corporate law, labor and employment law and construction and real estate law. In these areas, our lawyers provide counsel to a large number of companies and associations on the corporate structure options available to them and represent them in legal and arbitration proceedings.
The advanced expertise of DANCKELMANN UND KERST is one of the reasons why the firm has been mentioned for years in pertinent publications such as the “JUVE Handbuch Wirtschaftskanzleien” (JUVE German Commercial Law Firms Handbook), “Kanzleien in Deutschland“ (Law Firms in Germany), “The Legal 500” and “European Legal Experts.” It was also recently mentioned in the “Best Lawyers Germany” publication, which has been in circulation since 2009.
