24th - 26th September 2010 EMEA Regional Meeting Vienna, Austria

Schuppich, Sporn & Winischhofer, our Austrian member firm, will host the 2010 EMEA Regional Meeting in Vienna, Austria from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th September 2010.

On the evening of Friday 24th September the meeting will open with a welcome function at the hotel.
For delegates, Saturday will be taken up with the business meeting, whilst accompanying persons will have the opportunity to discover the beauty of the Wachau Valley. A coach ride along the Danube through charming villages with ruins and fortified castles perched on hills terraced with vineyards. A boat ride will take you to the historic town of Dürnstein where you can spend some time weaving through its narrow streets.
The Saturday evening function will take place in the beautiful and elegant Albertina Museum and Gallery.
Sunday morning for delegates will again be the business meeting and networking. Accompanying persons will be able to enjoy free time in the beautiful city of Vienna, visiting the many shops, museums and galleries which are very close to the hotel.

The meeting will be held at Le Meridien, Vienna which is centrally located and within walking distance of many of the sights.

NEW European Junior Initiative attached to the EMEA Regional Meeting
The first European Junior Initiative meeting was held in London in February of this year, which was a meeting of European Junior lawyers from MI member firms.

The main discussion at that meeting concerned how to encourage junior lawyers to become more involved in the network to assist in MI’s development and to encourage attendance of young Lawyers at the Regional meetings.

After that meeting it has been agreed that there will be a further meeting before the Regional Meeting in Vienna, Austria on Friday 24th September 2010. It is hoped that MI members will send a junior lawyer along to this meeting where there will be further discussions on how junior lawyers can assist with MI development so that the junior lawyers can build relationships for the future. The junior lawyers will then attend the welcome dinner to enable them to meet other MI members.

It is hoped that as many members as possible will send junior lawyers to the meeting on Friday 24th September to ensure that relationships between respective MI members continues long into the future.   There is a separate EJC Registration Form.
